Cub Scout Uniforms

There are two similar although different uniforms worn by Cub Scouts.  The Wolf and Bear Cubs wear the blue shirt, the official Cub Scout Cap, Belt (optional), and official Gold Neckerchief for Bear's and the Blue for the Wolf's with Cub Scout slide. It is approved for Cubs to wear neckerchief slides they have made themselves.

All Cub Scout shirts have:
Council Emblem - on the shoulder seam on the left shoulder.
U.S. Flag emblem - on the shoulder seam of the right shoulder
Pack Number - directly below the Council emblem on the left sleeve.
Den Number - centered on the right sleeve below the Flag emblem.

WEBELOS may wear either the dark blue or tan scout shirt, the official Webelos cap, Webelos Belt (optional), and the official blue, green, gold and red plaid  Neckerchief with the Webelos
or  handmade slide.  Webelos normally wear the blue epilates on the sleeve to identify them as Cubs and not Boy Scouts.
Official Cub Scout pants are available though many Packs do not require them.  Most Cub Packs accept navy or kaki. Jeans are becoming more accepted among the ranks of the Cubs because the kids wear them anyway. Pack 36 does not recommend buying scout pants we adhere to the above (blue, kaki or jeans).

Why Uniforms:
There are many reasons for Scout uniforms.  The reason that stands out above the rest.  Scouts wear uniforms to as a means of identifying themselves openly with the principals to which they are committed-character development, citizenship, physical and mental fitness.
The fact that scouts wear uniforms does not mean everyone is alike. Cub Scouts Pack's are made up of boys from different cultural, ethnic, religious and political backgrounds.  The uniform is a way of strength and support to each other.  Furthermore it is a way of making visible a Scouts commitment to a belief in God, loyalty to country and helping other people.
